I had a strange dream last night. Who wants to hear about it? lol.
I was sitting on a couch next to this guy around our age and his mum was opposite. We were in their house, and their house only had one room, and it was on the second storey, as in, you had to climb up stairs to reach it, but there were no rooms underneath. I knew somehow that this was the third time I'd been there, and also that this house was very close to where I lived. There wasn't much conversation going on - the guy was being really nice but his mum was pretty silent.
So then my parents turn up at the door, to pick me up, and I look outside and see it's pouring with rain, the kind of rain that was falling in the last scene of Step Up 2, and it's dark, almost pitch black, but neither of my parents are carrying an umbrella or wearing raincoats. I leave and we start walking in the rain. My mum says, "Why are you spending so much time with him? You're spending too much time with him. Do you like him or something?" and I'm just like, "No.."
The scene changes and we're walking through a mall, which is very white and well lit and all the shops are open, but the entire mall is empty, and none of the shops have names. Suddenly, the guy's mum appears about 20 m behind us, carrying something. She puts it on the ground and looks at us in an evil sort of way. My mum turns around then and notices the guy's mum, and gives her a contemptous look back. The guy's mum leaves the mall and my parents continue walking.
But I look at the bundle the guy's mum left on the ground, and I realise it's two items of clothing that I own: my maroon fleecy hoodie and a yellow shirt. So I go to pick it up, and I realise there's something else there: a green sandwich board which is much wider than it is tall. I pick that up too, and keep walking til I find my family, who are inside a clothes shop. I put the bundle of stuff on the ground and then my mum starts panicking, "What is that?! Did you knock it over?" She's talking about the sandwich board, which is now lying on the ground - one side says, "No, this is not just a piece of cardboard" the other side says, "If you let this board fall you will die."
Then this really suspenseful scary music starts playing and my parents are looking for something that will save us and I say to my brother, who is studying calmly, "I wish this music would stop!" He looks up and says, "You should concentrate on what you're doing instead of everything and everyone else for a change." He goes back to studying and I start looking for something that will save us too. My parents are looking through XXXL jeans at the back of the shop and my dad says, "Did you find anything?" and my mum says, "No, there's nothing here but jeans!"
I woke up at this point.

Supernatural-ness-ity
(Whoops lol I wrote most of this like, 2 days ago but forgot to post it.)
Firstly: what is supernatural?
- being above or beyond what is natural, that is to say, unexplainable by natural laws or phenomena
- pertaining to ghosts, goblins, deities and other unearthly beings
Am I a skeptic? No. At the very least, I think "aliens" are supernatural (they're unearthly) and I believe there are aliens somewhere. I'm the sort of person who believes in the statement "Just because there isn't a better theory, doesn't mean you have to accept this one." But, I think this theory is actually plausible. As humans, we have so much information from our five senses that we tend to rely on it, and disregard anything that cannot be seen/heard/touched/smelt/tasted.
However,
Just because it isn't raining at the moment, doesn't mean it never rained.
You have to use your own knowledge. Of course, in this example, you would have used your senses sometime before to decide it was raining, so all you need is your memory to believe that there is such a thing as rain.
Then, what about all the chemistry stuff we've been learning? You can't use your senses there, only trust that the syllabus and other people's conclusions are correct, and your own logic.
Going one step further, with supernatural stuff, there is nothing but controversial evidence, and your own logic/beliefs.
And if a god exists? Again, controversial evidence, and your own logic/beliefs.
Basically, that means that in order to believe in the supernatural, you have to have a little faith. Conversely, that would make a person who didn't believe in it faithless (at least when it comes to supernatural phenomena). Faithless? That's usually a negative word. Doubt. Skeptic. Is it a bad thing to have to see something to believe it? I definitely thought so when I was younger - after all, in books, children with their imaginations and open minds were experiencing new lands at the top of the Faraway Tree every day while their rude, skeptical cousins laughed and shredded their lace petticoats on the slide. Did these children believe in fairies because they were open minded and they found it made good sense, or because they blindly believed everything put in front of them?
Hard to say.
These days though, the thing about people who doubt that repels me is the fact that they seem so cold.. if they don't want to trust you despite you not having done anything to lose their trust, why would you bother with them? Well, do they doubt because they are close minded and think that nothing you can't sense makes sense, or because they are trying not to be apathetic?
Hard to say.
Second question: Are you afraid of ghosts and spirits and the possibility that they might exist?
Well, if I saw a ghost, or the whole doors opening and closing thing, I would be really scared, because I'm a total wuss when it comes to that sort of thing. I scare myself when I see my own reflection in the middle of the night :) and I would never say 'Candyman' three times in front of the mirror in the dark.
*sudden image of Jennifer Love Hewitt taking a photo with her special camera at night and seeing herself surrounded by ghosts*
Then again, if I saw a ghost during the day, I would be less scared. Night = 4 senses working. Day = 5 senses working. So, if a ghost during the day could prove to me that it was more or less harmless, that would be okay. I'm not afraid of the possibility that ghosts exist, just that I don't want to die yet and I don't really want another way to be killed.
And after you die... (this is going into Yujie's comment)
Why do people want to believe in an afterlife? Because their own life is so bad that they want something better. Because they can't bear the fact that there is nothing after this, that death is permanent. Because their religion dictates it.
*insert other*
I don't know that there is an afterlife. It partially seems to me that it's just an excuse for people to not have to make the most of now, because there's something more. People with a definite death deadline try to make more use of their life than those without, as a general rule. Some religious people sacrifice a lot of their own life to get into heaven. Ahh well maybe they don't see it quite like that, but still. Can they honestly say that they fulfilled everything they wanted to do in life whilst keeping in line with heaven's expectations?
You live your life by what you believe. And a belief cannot be proven. That's what makes these things supernatural.

ATTAACCCKKK
lol~
So this is what happened at the SPCA today:
One of the animal attendants wanted a volunteer to feed the kittens at the ARC. The ARC (Animal Recovery Centre) is where cats with cat flu go while they get better. They're still up for adoption, and the rooms they're in are really pretty - designed like the insides of people's houses, complete with beds and carpets and things. Each room is about the size of my bedroom.
So, the lady showed me where to get the food and the special apron I had to wear etc, and says that the number of cats in each room is indicated outside the door. As she leaves, she says to make sure that I close the door after I enter the room because even though there's a low screen, the cats can jump out.
I was like, yup.
*looks at the door*
Sign says: 23 Kittens x 1
I thought, there can't be 23 kittens.
*Slides door open*
There were 23 kittens.
And, because they were starved for both food and human attention, they ran right up and started trying to grab me.
I was like, OMGASDFPOIWEJP@#)NDVL
lol
But eventually I managed to get them all fed without stepping on them.
I went back outside and the staff member in charge of the ARC walks past, and she's like, "Did you feed my beauties?"
[Unfortunately] "Yes."
"Thank you so much!" And she leaves.
The next room said, "Kittens x 28."
*Slides door open*
These kittens were older, like maybe four months, so they immediately put their paws on the top of the screen, trying to get to me.
And as I was putting the food in their bowls, one of them sliced my glove, and I was like, "Thanks for that," and then another one jumped on my back and just sat there, which made all the people watching through the glass laugh, especially because my hands were full of food so I couldn't lift her off - I had to wait til she jumped off. How terrible. This is why I like adult cats.
Story time over :)

Just because
She had taken one mouthful of the chocolate torte, but she knew she couldn't possibly eat another.
It was delicious.
- Non-indicating impatient drivers: Specifically, I'm talking about how at that X-intersection near my house, the traffic lights go green almost at the same time as the little man allows me to cross. The drivers turning left have to wait for me to cross the road, and they sort of inch forward a bit impatiently. That's understandable, so if I see that a driver is indicating left, I walk really fast. But those drivers that don't bother to indicate, but still turn left and move forward impatiently... that's so rude. Read the road code people.
- The new Schwarzkoph (or however you spell it) rose oil-scented shampoo my mum got: I've never encountered a shampoo that worked quite this badly. Yay for anti-advertising.
- People chewing too loudly: It's not really the most pleasant sound in the world. I don't mind slurping though XD
- A whole lot of equally-sized circles arranged closely together: I don't know why, but it makes me think of disease.. ack
I think that's about it, actually (^_^) most of the things that bother me aren't the little things, like friendship issues, assumptions that lead to arguments, that kind of thing.
lol on another note:
I hear my cousin, who's about 10, is taking the piano grade 6 exam~ last time we went to Malaysia, she got bored with a song she was playing and transposed it over and over into every other key. So pro XD
