She picked up a twig and set it on fire, a little tree of flame. She later had to drop it before it burnt her.

(For Laina) Have you heard of the twelve Labours of Hercules? He had to kill the Nemean lion and the Hydra and catch Diana's deer etc etc as a punishment for going insane and killing his wife. Something along those lines.

I went to the SPCA yesterday. Managed to get through the whole shift without a mistake~ whoo
But it occurred to me, you know how extroverted people are naturally more likeable? Yeah well, extroverted cats are more likely to get adopted. See, when people come in, they have an idea about the age of the cat they want, and... that's about it. (Except that some of the little kids like a particular colour.) So, a lot of them narrow it down by, "Let's walk around and see if any of them come up to us."

Yesterday, there was this big grey-and-white cat called Thirteen. Poor guy was so shy, he hid behind his litter tray staring at everyone, not eating his food. So no one really took a second glance at him. He was real cute, but cuteness just doesn't come into it when there are 6-week-old kittens two doors down.

Incidentally, I only got 30% for extraversion on the Facebook personality thing. Apparently I sometimes tire of people. I don't really agree - I usually only tire of strangers. lol.
